Freeman tops CareChex ratings

A major medical quality rating organization awarded a multitude of service lines across Freeman Health System with top rankings at the national, state, regional and local levels based upon medical excellence and patient safety.

JOPLIN, Mo. – A major medical quality rating organization awarded a multitude of service lines across Freeman Health System with top rankings at the national, state, regional and local levels based upon medical excellence and patient safety. CareChex® – a division of Comparion® Medical Analytics – ranked Freeman’s cardiac care among the top 10 percent in the nation for medical excellence. In addition, Freeman’s cardiac care ranked 223 out of thousands of hospital cardiac care facilities across the country. Freeman’s overall medical care was recognized as #1 in the state and was placed among the top 100 in the country for patient safety. 

Additionally, CareChex ranked Freeman among the top 10 percent in the nation for medical excellence in gastrointestinal care and pulmonary care. Freeman was also recognized among the top 100 health systems in the nation for patient safety ratings in interventional coronary care and pulmonary care. 

CareChex acknowledged Freeman for a number of other distinctions, including the top 100 hospitals in the nation, top 10 percent in the nation and #1 in the state for medical excellence among major bowel procedures. A complete listing of Freeman’s ratings is provided below.
