Freeman Welcomes First Babies of 2017

Two babies were born at Freeman Hospital West to ring in the New Year.

Two babies were born at Freeman Hospital West to ring in the New Year, including Todd Patrick Allen, Jr. His parents plan on calling him TJ. This precious baby arrived at 6:17 pm January 1, 2017. Little TJ was welcomed by parents Raven and Todd Allen of Neosho, Mo. TJ weighed six pounds, one ounce and measured 19.5 inches in length.

TJ, along with all babies born at Freeman West on New Year’s Day, received a stuffed animal from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Freeman Health System has provided maternity care to Joplin and surrounding communities for more than 90 years. Freeman Maternity Center features two obstetric surgery suites, board-certified obstetricians, certified nurse midwifes, the region’s only board-certified perinatologist for high-risk pregnancies and three full-time neonatal nurse practitioners for sick and prematurely born infants. A newly-remodeled nurses station, nursery and mom and baby rooms provide privacy and comfort during this special time. Additionally, Malarie Hickey Jaccaud Birthing Unit features nine home-like labor and delivery suites.
