Freeman Named Consumer Choice Award Winner

February 21, 2017

Freeman receives prestigious honor for eighth consecutive year.

Freeman Health System is one of just 279 hospitals nationwide, and the only hospital in this area, to be named a Consumer Choice Award Winner by National Research Corporation (NRC) for 2016-2017. The annual award identifies hospitals across the United States that healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in surveys.

“We are proud to be seen by the community as a quality provider,” said Paula F. Baker, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “It’s really a credit to the more than 4,500 physicians, nurses and staff who work each day to provide an exceptional patient experience and compassionate care.”

Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected by NRC’s Market Insights survey, the largest online consumer healthcare survey in the country. NRC surveys more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.

Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on Core Based Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with winning facilities ranked the highest. To see the full list visit nrc.com/about/awards/consumer-choice-awards.
