Freeman Health System announces the addition of Dr. Fatima Khalid at Freeman Kidney Center. Dr. Khalid specializes in nephrology, which focuses on kidney care and kidney diseases.

After receiving her medical degree at Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Khalid completed her internal medicine residency at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, Mich., and her internal medicine/preventive medicine residency at Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her fellowship in nephrology at University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.

“Because kidney patients typically undergo three to four hours of treatment, three times a week, you truly develop close relationships,” said Dr. Khalid. “I treat my patients like family members. I want them to receive the highest level of medical care with the latest research and technology.”

Dr. Khalid is board-certified in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition to seeing patients in Joplin, Dr. Khalid conducts clinics at Freeman Physician Group of Pittsburg. To make an appointment, contact Freeman Kidney Center at 417.347.8570.
