Paula F. Baker Signs Physical Activity Pledge

May 19, 2017

Pledge aims to improve employee health and wellness.

Freeman Health System President and Chief Executive Officer, Paula F. Baker, has joined top executives of hundreds of health-minded companies in signing the CEO Pledge™ for the National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA). The pledge is a national campaign in which chief executive officers publicly recognize physical activity as an important driver of employee health and business performance.

“Freeman is truly committed to encouraging wellness among our employees,” said Baker. “Healthy employees have a better quality of life, are more engaged and work more safely.”

The pledge states: For the betterment of my company, our employees, their families and the community, I pledge to improve employee health and wellness by engaging in regular physical activity. NCPPA believes executive leadership is critical to employee engagement, and that by making physical activity an executive priority, employee health and wellness will increase.

Freeman is a recognized Platinum-level Fit-friendly Worksite by American Heart Association® for helping employees eat better and move more. Platinum-level employers offer employees physical activity options in the workplace, increase healthy eating options, and more.
