JOPLIN, Mo. – Less than two years after land was initially broken on a blustery summer day in 2022, the new Medical Office Building at 3401 W. McIntosh Circle Drive officially opened to the public Friday morning, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house.

The 30,169-square foot facility houses offices for physicians specializing in neurosurgery, urology and dermatology service lines and departments.

“People choose Freeman because we have the finest team of doctors anywhere, and we want them to have the clinics and office space they deserve,” said Paula Baker, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “This new, modern building gives our physicians the room they need to care for patients to the highest standard.”

The three-story building includes procedure rooms, a clinical laboratory, x-ray services and two fast-moving elevators, among other features. The building’s front lobby directly faces Freeman Hospital West campus. 
“Providing the best care for our patients and our community means keeping pace with the future by continually upgrading our facilities, technologies and services,” Baker said during the 10:00 am ceremony. “We’ve invested more than $10 million in the new building, and we can’t wait for you to step inside and see it.”

Convenient access to care is one of the key ideas behind the project. The new 3401 building also includes unique amenities such as a canopied entryway for easy access for patients during appointments and a connecting bridge with the adjacent Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute.
