Freeman WellBalance Program Earns Top Honors

January 17, 2019

Award Recognizes Workplace Wellness

The WellBalance program at Freeman Health System earned the 2018 Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® award from the National Association for Business Resources. Freeman is the only program in the area to earn this recognition. The program honors companies that promote employee wellbeing, worksite health and wellness.

WellBalance is the Freeman employee wellness program that promotes healthy lifestyles through free health screenings, fitness classes, and workshops and seminars on topics ranging from financial management to physical fitness and nutrition.

“We are honored to be recognized as a leading organization in health and wellness,” said Paula F. Baker, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “This type of recognition really speaks to the outstanding work of our team members at Freeman who deliver care at an exceptionally high level.”

Winning companies were evaluated by an assessment, created and administered by SynBella, the nation’s leading wellness systems firm. Company entries are examined statistically for quantitative and qualitative data. Each survey was scored on a point system based on criteria to benchmark and improve wellness program effectiveness. These include outcomes, analysis, tracking, participation and incentives, benefits and programs, leadership, employee input, culture and environment.

“WellBalance provides opportunities to address seven areas of wellness: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual,” said Kris Drake, RN, CHPD, Freeman Wellness Coordinator. “We inspire total wellbeing by creating opportunities and encouraging employees to maintain their quality of life.”

The Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness winners will be featured in the January 31 online edition of Corp! Magazine. Winning companies will also receive additional recognition at the National Best and Brightest Summit in September.
