Freeman physician joins Southwest Missouri American Red Cross Board

Dr. Kyle Kennedy, Freeman Hospital West Emergency Department Physician Director, has been named to the Southwest Missouri American Red Cross Board of Directors.

JOPLIN, Mo.—Dr. Kyle Kennedy, Freeman Hospital West Emergency Department Physician Director, has been named to the Southwest Missouri American Red Cross Board of Directors.

Appointed to a three-year term, Dr. Kennedy will join 11 other members of the board. Dave Dillon, Southwest Missouri American Red Cross Executive Director of Financial Development, said Dr. Kennedy’s insight into the medical field is a welcome addition to the board.

“His experience with Freeman brings us a new perspective,” said Dillon. “We are thrilled and very fortunate to have Dr. Kennedy join our board.”

Dr. Kennedy earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. He graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa. Dr. Kennedy completed his emergency medicine residency training at INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Kennedy joined Freeman Health System in 2004. In addition to his leadership responsibilities in the Emergency Department, he currently serves as Freeman EagleMed Air Ambulance Medical Director and is an Advanced Trauma Life Support® instructor. Dr. Kennedy is also fellow with the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Kennedy described his appointment to the Southwest Missouri American Red Cross Board of Directors as a tremendous honor.

“The work accomplished by American Red Cross volunteers, especially during times of crisis, is crucial,” said Dr. Kennedy. “Their service to the community often parallels that of Freeman, and we support their endeavors wholeheartedly.
