Freeman Health System has selected Barbara H. Miller, MD, FAAFP, as Chief Medical Officer for the Missouri/Kansas market.

In this role, Dr. Miller will provide physician leadership and clinical oversight across the Missouri and Kansas markets, helping advance quality, patient safety and clinical excellence.

"Dr. Miller brings a strong commitment to clinical excellence, physician engagement and patient-centered care," said Renee Denton, market president for Missouri and Kansas. "Her leadership and experience will be invaluable as we continue supporting our physicians, providers and care teams while advancing high-quality care across our organization."

Board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Miller earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed her residency training through the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine–Tulsa. Her professional interests include women's health, behavioral health and medical education.

Dr. Miller succeeds Dr. Lee Harwell, who will assist with the transition of responsibilities through Aug. 12.
