Springdale, Ark. (July 30, 2026) — Freeman Health System hospitals in Bentonville and Springdale have earned Level III Trauma Center designations from the Arkansas Department of Health.

“This designation reflects our team’s commitment to providing timely, high-quality trauma care for the communities we serve,” said Kory Browning, interim market president of Freeman Health System – Arkansas. “It is the result of the dedication of our physicians, nurses, EMS partners and every team member who works each day to care for our patients.”

As Level III Trauma Centers, both hospitals provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and stabilization for injured patients while coordinating transfers when a high level of care is needed.

“Earning Level III Trama Center designation is a significant accomplishment for both hospitals,” said Annie Kanitz, director of trauma services for Freeman Health System – Arkansas. “We are especially proud that the Arkansas Department of Health identified no deficiencies during the designation survey for either program.”
