Freeman Fort Scott Clinic Celebrates with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Freeman Health System held a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new clinic in Fort Scott, Kan. Dr. Michael Zafuta, Freeman Orthopaedic Surgeon, will see patients at Freeman Fort Scott Clinic two days a month in addition to his practice in Pittsburg, Kan. Dr. Zafuta specializes in shoulder and knee surgery, sports medicine, general orthopaedic surgery and workers’ compensation.

Dr. Zafuta is the official team physician and medical director of the Pittsburg State University sports medicine program. Additionally, he serves as official team physician and sports medicine director for a number of southeast Kansas high schools, including Pittsburg, Girard, Southeast, Frontenac and Northeast.

Nationally recognized, the Freeman team of orthopaedic specialists performs more than 5,600 surgical procedures each year and has served the Joplin area and beyond for more than 20 years. With the opening of Freeman Fort Scott Clinic, Freeman Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine extends its world-class orthopaedic care to residents of Fort Scott, Kan., and surrounding communities.
