Freeman Announces 46th Annual Joplin Christmas Parade Winners

Winners Announced

The 46th Annual Joplin Christmas Parade, held December 6, featured the theme “A Hollywood Christmas.” Crowds lined Main Street and cheered as the parade made its way from 15th Street to Third Street. Chosen from nearly 100 entrants, the winners are:

Float winners

  • Overall: (tie) United States Postal Service of Joplin and First Gospel Workers Church
  • Judges’ Choice: The Lawn Guy
  • Best Use of Theme: SMB

Band

  • First Place: Joplin Eagle Pride Marching Band
  • Second Place: Joplin East Middle School
  • Third Place: Joplin South Middle School

The parade generated $3,360 from entry fees, which go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This is the third year Freeman managed the Joplin Christmas Parade, which included countless man-hours to organize and orchestrate the event.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provides assistance to children from birth to 21 years of age in a 14-county area in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. All money raised stays local,
