The origin of the former Sale Memorial Hospital can be traced to 1937 when it was established as Sale-Bowman Hospital by Dr. Onal Carter Sale and Dr. Melvin C. Bowman. Following Dr. Sale’s death in 1944, the hospital was renamed Sale Memorial Hospital. Freeman acquired the facility in 1993. Since then, Freeman Neosho Hospital has continued to increase the level of services to residents in Newton and McDonald counties.
The most recent project was an addition to expand computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services. The addition was named the Larry D. Neff CT-MRI Suite. A 21-bed critical care access hospital, Freeman Neosho Hospital offers world-class inpatient and outpatient medical services close to home and family. For those requiring emergency medical care, Freeman Neosho offers an emergency room staffed by experienced physicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
