Freeman Health System To Welcome Northwest Health
Freeman Health System will soon welcome Northwest Health to its care network. Read the full announcement here Press Release.
This agreement represents a meaningful step in strengthening access to high-quality, compassionate care for patients and families in Northwest Arkansas and the broader Four-State region.
Together, our organizations are committed to serving our communities with excellence, integrity, and compassion.
The agreement is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of this year, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. We’ll share additional updates in the months ahead and continue to update this page as we get closer to closing.
What This Means for Our Patients and Families
If you’re a patient of Freeman Health System or Northwest Health, your care will continue without interruption.
- You’ll continue to receive care in the facilities you know.
- Your doctors, nurses, and care teams remain the same.
- Appointments, medical records, and services will continue as usual.
Our priority is ensuring a seamless experience for every patient we serve.
Strengthening Care Through a Not-for-Profit Model
As part of this agreement, Northwest Health will transition to a not-for-profit system upon closing.
This transition supports:
- Continued investment in clinical programs and specialty services
- Advancement of technology and tools that enhance care
- Expanded workforce development and caregiver support
- Greater access to high-quality care across the region
For more than a century, Freeman Health System has been guided by a not-for-profit mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We’re honored to extend that mission into Northwest Arkansas.
Expanding Access, Supporting Communities
After closing, Freeman will welcome the dedicated teams and services of Northwest Health, including four hospitals and more than 1,500 physicians and caregivers, into our system. This will enhance our ability to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care to more patients and families while maintaining a strong local presence in our communities.
We’re committed to honoring the Northwest Health legacy while working collaboratively to strengthen services and meet community needs. Our focus remains on what matters most: providing exceptional care for the patients and families we are privileged to serve.
