Freeman Welcomes Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Frank Kim

January 04, 2019

Board-certified Physician Joins World-class Heart Team

Freeman Heart & Vascular Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Frank Kim, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, to its medical staff. Interventional cardiologists perform many interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterization, to diagnose and treat heart disease, stenting, angiogram, angioplasty and intravascular ultrasound. They also provide general and preventive cardiology care.

“Cardiology is unique to other disciplines. The same treatment doesn’t work for everyone,” said Dr. Kim. “You develop a lifelong relationship with the patient to develop his or her cardiovascular health story, and I encourage active participation from the patient in their treatment.”

After earning his medical degree at University of Illinois in Chicago, Ill., Dr. Kim completed his residency in internal medicine at University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in Los Angeles, Calif., a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, Calif., and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Kim holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and vascular medicine.

Dr. Kim’s clinic is located at Freeman Heart & Vascular Institute, 3333 McIntosh Circle, Ste. 4. He is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment call 417.347.5000.
