Freeman Celebrates the Opening of Freeman Lung Institute

June 13, 2017

Freeman Health System celebrated the opening of Freeman Lung Institute with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The clinic, the first and only in the area, gives patients access to screening, diagnosis, treatment and support of life-threatening lung diseases in one convenient location.

“The opening of Freeman Lung Institute enables us to elevate the level of care we provide to area patients,” said Paula F. Baker, Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are fortunate to be able to offer comprehensive lung care and meet the needs of our community through expert physicians, nurses and other clinicians.”

Freeman Lung Institute provides comprehensive care for a wide range of pulmonary conditions including lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, asthma, pulmonary hypertension and more.

Freeman Lung Institute features best-in-class pulmonary function testing (PFT), which is painless and offers immediate results and instant treatment right in the physician’s offices. Other services include alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency testing, bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound, inhaler education, and smoking cessation counseling.

Located at 1002 McIntosh Circle, Suite 4, in Joplin, Mo., Freeman Lung Institute is home to Dr. Navid Zaidi, Dr. Philip Slocum and Dr. Yashwanth Yerramalla. They are currently accepting patients. To schedule an appointment call 417.347.8315. For more information visit freemanhealth.com/lung.
