As one of the busiest maternity centers in Missouri, we've earned the trust of moms-to-be because we provide family-centered care and individual attention in a warm, caring environment. Our highly-trained, expert team includes board-certified obstetricians, available 24 hours a day, and the region's only board-certified perinatologist to care for patients with high-risk pregnancies. Freeman Maternity Center, designed with privacy and comfort in mind, features home-like birthing suites and private postpartum rooms.
Prenatal education
To help expectant mothers and families prepare for the arrival of a new baby, we offer a wide variety of prenatal education classes, including childbirth classes, sibling classes, and lactation consultations.
During your stay

During labor and delivery
Freeman Maternity Center physicians, nurse midwives, nurses, and support staff are dedicated to delivering efficient, safe care. Through the course of your delivery experience, your caregiver educates, assists, and explains your care.
We offer traditional and alternative pain management options to help you stay comfortable:
- Analgesia (IV medication)
- Labor birth balls
- Straddle chairs
- Jacuzzi tubs
- Shower amenities
After delivery
Once you feel ready to celebrate, Freeman Nutrition Services will prepare a special meal for you and a guest. Choose from delicious entrée options including:
- Roast turkey and bacon ciabatta sandwich
- Grilled ham and cheese sandwich
- Grilled chicken breast sandwich on a kaiser roll
- 1/4 lb. hamburger with American cheese and bacon
- Chef salad
- Fried chicken salad
- Chicken strip basket with fries
- Fresh-baked cheese, pepperoni, or vegetable pizza
- Dessert options include fresh baked brownie, home-style apple pie, or New York style cheesecake topped with cherries

Visiting hours
There are no set visiting hours in Birthing Center. Postpartum visiting hours are 8:30 am-8:30 pm. Spouse or designated loved one may visit anytime and stay overnight, and family members are encouraged to visit from 10:30 am-8:30 pm. Please note that children under 12 who are not siblings of the newborn may not visit, but they may view babies in the nursery viewing area.
Please note: if you plan to stay in the hospital overnight to care for or be close to a loved one, please register at the nurses station on your floor. Your cooperation helps us ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
