Freeman Advantage offers many exciting travel opportunities throughout the year, including day trips, cruises, and trips abroad. Kansas City, Here We Come! Wednesday, September 24. The Steamboat Arabia sank in the Missouri River in 1856 with 200 tons of cargo, and the Arabia Steamboat Museum displays a vast collection of frontier supplies and personal belongings recovered from the wreckage. Additionally, we will dine at Winslow’s BBQ and visit the World War I Memorial, dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of and artifacts associated with World War I. Final reservations/cancellation/refund date: Monday, September 15. Cost: $90.

Four Star Country Boy at College of the Ozarks. Thursday, October 23. Our trip to Point Lookout, Missouri, will include entrance to the Ralph Foster Museum, pot roast lunch at the Keeter Center Lodge, Four Star Country Boy performance and a student-led campus tour. You will have time to stop at the College Creamery for dessert on your own. Cost: $65. Final reservation/cancellation date: Wednesday, August 27.

Christmas in New York. Friday, December 12 - Monday, December 15. Join Freeman Advantage as we fly to New York City for a Christmas-filled trip. Highlights include: three night’s accommodations at the Millennium Broadway Hotel, three dinners, Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, orchestra-level seating at the musical Newsies, Ground Zero, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, an insider’s tour of the Garment Center, baggage handling, travel insurance and services of Cruises and Tours Worldwide Tour Manager. Cost: $2,339 double, $2,755 single, $2,140 triple. $100 deposit and completed reservation form required to reserve your place. Final payment due: Friday, September 5.

Warm Weather Get Away To Puerto Morelos. Saturday, January 10 – Saturday, January 17, 2015. When it’s cold in the four state area, Freeman Advantage will be enjoying warm weather at the all-inclusive Ocean Coral & Turquesa five-star resort on the Riviera Maya in Mexico! Double occupancy: $1,787. Trip includes transfers, airfare, meals and accommodations. $100 non-refundable deposit due by Monday, September 8.

Beijing, China. Trip dates: Tuesday, March 17 - Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Collette Vacations has planned an incredible trip that includes visits to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, an acrobatics show and Temple of Heaven. Double occupancy: $2,750. This price includes airfare, airport-to-hotel transfers, hotel accommodations at Traders Hotel by Shangri-La in Beijing, all sites and 14 meals. Visa fee additional. Additional options available to see the Terra Cotta Warriors and an extension to stay in Hong Kong for another three days; extra fees apply. Reservation/cancellation date: Thursday, September 11.

Springfield Cardinals Baseball Game. Thursday, August 28. We’ll load the bus and grab our seats in the Redbird Roost at a Springfield Cardinals baseball game. We will leave Freeman East at 4:30 pm. Cost: $56 includes transportation, ticket to game and all-you-can-eat ballpark food. Reservations required.

Islands of New England. Friday, October 3 - Friday, October 10, 2014. Our tour begins in Providence, Rhode Island, and then heads to Newport—the “Yachting Capital of the East.” We’ll explore the Vanderbilt summer home and see why Newport became a legendary resort destination. Next we’re off to Boston for an American history tour, and a stop at the legendary Plymouth Rock and replica of the Mayflower. The next day we’ll go to Martha’s Vineyard—visited by presidents and royalty and home to artists, writers and celebrities. A first-class ferry ride will take us to the idyllic island of Nantucket to view its beaches and lighthouses. The final tour day will take us to Hyannis to catch a glimpse of the Kennedy compound and a visit to the Kennedy Memorial, then on to Provincetown—famous for its crafts and bright Cape Cod flair. You won’t find another fall trip like this one that combines the beauty of the islands and the gorgeous fall colors of the season.

Where Freeman Advantage has been:

Shades of Ireland. August 2014. Stops on this ten day trip included Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Blarney Castle, Limerick, King John’s Castle, the Treaty Stone and the 700-foot Cliffs of Moher.

Eight Countries Without A Passport. June 2014. This trip to Omaha, Nebraska included a Greek dinner and dancing, exploring the Old Market neighborhood, and stops at Father Flannagan’s Boys Town, the Scottish Joslyn Castle and the Mackevicius family’s Lithuanian Bakery.

Broadway Bound: Wicked. June 2014. Freeman Advantage enjoyed the Broadway musical, Wicked at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Gaither Fest. May 2014. A weekend of wonderful Southern gospel music. Trip included transportation, lodging, baggage handling, four meals, two concerts, entrance to Fort Worth sights, and gratuities.

From Route 66 to Phillips 66, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. March 2014. Stops at Willow Rock, the country home of Frank Phillips of Phillips 66 Oil Company, his Bartlesville home, and the Phillips 66 Museum.

Hair. February 2014. This Broadway musical live on stage is both a joyous celebration of youth and a poignant journey through tumultuous 1960s America! This exuberant musical about a group of teenagers searching for truth, peace, and love in the Vietnam War era has struck a chord with audiences of all ages. Many chart-topping songs include: “Aquarius,” “Let the Sun Shine In,” “Good Morning, Starshine,” and “Easy to be Hard” continue to have a profound impact on
audiences.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. January 2014. Freeman Advantage members flew non-stop from Kansas City to Puerto Vallarta for a seven-night stay at the newly remodeled Riu Jalisco. Cost of $1,625 included transportation to Kansas City and return, overnight stay at Four Points by Sheraton, hotel accommodations at Rui Jalisco, airfare, transfers, city tour, all entertainment, and meals

Branson Christmas. December 2013. Freeman Advantage members went to Branson Landing for Christmas shopping, to the Sight & Sound Theatre to see “The Miracle of Christmas.”, to the Hard Luck Diner to eat and then to Kringle’s Christmas Store before heading home.

Biltmore Christmas. November 2013. This Freeman Advantage trip included a stop in Nashville, Tennessee to see a performance of the live music show “The Spirit of Christmas” aboard the General Jackson riverboat and an overnight stay. Then it was on to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina—the former home of the Vanderbilt family.

Freeman Advantage travel policies

Please keep the following in mind when traveling with Freeman Advantage:
  • Receipt of payment secures your space. Please submit your payment as soon as possible once you've signed up. Payments can be made with cash, check or credit card. We cannot give refunds after the final payment or cancellation date. 
  • If the payment/cancellation date has passed and you are interested in attending, please call the office. A waiting list is kept for those who want to attend should there be cancelations.
  • Trip itineraries are subject to change. Substitutions will be of equal or greater value. 
  • Advantage trips are open to nonmembers for an additional fee of $20. This fee pays for a membership for those 50 years and over and does not apply to extended trips.

If you are interested in taking a group trip that Freeman Advantage is not currently offering, we can still assist you with your travel plans. Freeman Advantage is able to book any trip through Collette Vacations. You will receive the Freeman Advantage discount, and a car will pick you up at your home and deliver you home from the airport.
