Freeman recently teamed up with HealthStream® Research to collect patient satisfaction data. HealthStream conducts random, confidential phone surveys with patients within 14 days of discharge.
Based on Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (HCAHPS) requirements, the survey focuses on communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, cleanliness, and quietness.
Freeman receives recordings of calls every day. In addition, HealthStream provides daily updates online to help us monitor our HCAHPS scores. We use patient feedback not only to stay on top of our HCAHPS scores, but also to recognize and reward employees or correct issues that you say need attention.
